Welcome to my Blog!
My name is Julie, and I am a graduate student in the Post-Baccalaureate
Education Program at Cabrini College. I
am studying to receive my Teacher Certifications in Grades PreK -4 and Special
Education. I am also working towards completing my Masters of Education. I am
excited to do my student teaching this fall. As a
part of my coursework, I am currently taking a class called Assistive
Technology. I invite you to follow my
blog, as it will document my learning of course material! I was fortunate
enough to have used Assistive Technology myself, to help with vision
disabilities. I used computer software called Kurzweil that read my books to
me, as I followed along. I am very interested in learning how I can effectively
use different types of technology to help even the playing field for my
students with learning differences. Enjoy!
I love how you set up your blog visually. It is really appealing! Then reading about your own visual disability made me more impressed as this required a lot of effort from you.
ReplyDeleteHaving a son with a disability has given me new appreciation for how hard individuals with disabilities have to work. I applaud and encourage you to seek your dreams in education. It's a wonderful career.
I think it is great you are pursuing and furthering your education. Because you have background knowledge in assistive technology, I feel like this course will only help you gain more knowledge. As a student who has learned assistive technology, you understand how necessary it is. I think it is great you are ready to learn more in order to help students with learning disabilities.
ReplyDeleteI find it fascinating that you are able to make a connection between this class and assistive technology in your own life. I wish you luck in the future!
ReplyDeleteI think it is wonderful you are getting you masters in education. Also, I think your blog looks inviting.
